This apparatus is used to determine whether certain laminations of plastic withstand repetitive strainto measure the loss of ply integrity. By attaching the sample pieces of laminated plastic to the twocircular clamping disks, via hose clamps, the specimen is twisted and turned to the specificmovements. This process will show a visual result of pin holding and delamination. The sample size (200 X 280 mm) is attached to the flex tester mandrels. The flexing action consistsof a twisting motion combined with a horizontal motion as form of oscillations, thus repeatedlytwisting and crushing the film up to predefined number of strokes as per conditions selected. After apredetermined number of strokes the material is taken for permeation testing. The flex testingmethod used is ASTM F392, "Flex durability of flexible barrier materials".
